Sorting
Impregnated wood is wood treated with impregnating agents.
Items sorted into impregnated wood include, for example:
- patio boards;
- garden furniture;
- jetties;
- pylons;
- fence posts; and
- railway sleepers.
Impregnated wood may contain only small metal fasteners, such as nails, screws and hinges. It must not contain large metal parts, such as large bolts or wires. Impregnated wood must also not contain soil, and there must be no plastic, concrete, fabric, insulation, bitumen or aluminium attached to it. There must be no woodpecker netting, crossbars or enamel attached to pylons.
